Our Approach
Individualized, evidence-based treatment
We believe recovery is possible at every stage of life. Our clinicians use research-supported therapies that address both the physical and emotional aspects of eating disorders. Treatment may include:
- CBT-E (Enhanced Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) for adults with eating disorders
- DBT-informed therapy to build emotional regulation and self-compassion
- Trauma-focused approaches when past experiences contribute to symptoms
- Collaboration with primary care providers and dietitians for integrated, coordinated care
Treatment is tailored to each person’s unique needs—whether your goals include restoring healthy eating patterns, reducing distress around food and body image, or addressing co-occurring concerns such as anxiety, depression, or trauma.
GETTING STARTED: SCREENING & INITIAL ASSESSMENT
The first step in becoming a patient at EBHA is completing our brief screening questionnaire and scheduling an Initial Assessment & Consultation. Please answer the screening questions as thoughtfully and accurately as possible—your responses help us:
- Determine the best clinical fit for outpatient care
- Identify any concerns that may be better addressed in a higher level of care or require urgent medical attention
- Match you with a therapist whose expertise and style align best with your goals and needs
Your first session is a consultation and diagnostic assessment (not a guarantee of ongoing treatment).
- For eating/body image concerns: ~90–120 minutes
- For non-eating concerns: ~60–90 minutes
During this session, we’ll review your eating and activity behaviors, mental health and medical history, and relevant personal and family context.
Following the consultation, we’ll collaborate on a personalized plan. This may include ongoing outpatient therapy at EBHA, referrals to dietitians, psychiatrists, or medical providers, or—when indicated—a referral to a higher level of care to best support your safety and recovery.
We are committed to helping you access the care that best supports your healing, even if that means connecting you to services outside our practice.
