Get to Know Em (she/her)

I work with young adults and adults experiencing eating disorders, disordered eating, body image concerns, and other issues related to obsessive behaviors, anxiety, perfectionism, and self-worth. I believe our relationship to our bodies can sometimes express our inner experiences in ways we have not yet found language for, and therapy can be a place to encounter and untangle that story. I collaborate well with clients who are invested in working toward experiencing and enjoying a full range of emotions, accessing freedom from internal rigidities, and increasing their ability to access imagination and creativity.

I am excited to join Eating and Behavioral Health Associates to further my training in evidence-based approaches to eating disorder treatment, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy- Enhanced.  I value an integrative and holistic approach to psychotherapy and enjoy working collaboratively with people to support their specific goals, ideas, and hopes. In sessions, I use a combination of different techniques to support clients in building a life filled with relationships and experiences that feel meaningful. I especially enjoy working with individuals who identify as LGBTQ+, artists, activists, college students, those in the helping profession, and others who find themselves experiencing overfunctioning and burn out.

I attended The State University of New York at Purchase College where I earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting, and I obtained my M.A. in Counseling Psychology at The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology.

I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in the state of Ohio and am supervised by EBHA expert Lyndsey Pruett (LPCC-S) and receive regular consultation with Dr. Altman. I am committed to my growth as a therapist and regularly attend consult groups and trainings to support my patients. Prior to joining EBHA, I completed my internship and then worked as a therapist for Washington locations of The Emily Program, providing individual and group counseling as well as case management to adult and adolescent patients in eating disorder recovery in both the partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient setting.
