Get to Know Peyton (she/her)

I strive to build genuine, collaborative relationships with my clients while providing care that is grounded in evidence-based practice. I work with a wide range of emotional and life challenges, including concerns related to eating and body image. My goal is to create an environment where clients can openly discuss experiences that may feel difficult to talk about, receive support with compassion and nonjudgment, and learn practical skills that help them navigate life’s challenges with greater confidence. I believe it is important for clients to have a clear understanding of the direction and purpose of our work together, but also why particular strategies are effective and how they can continue using those skills beyond our sessions. One of the most rewarding parts of therapy for me is watching clients surprise themselves with their own progress and recognize their strength and resilience.

I work with adult clients experiencing a broad range of eating-related concerns, as well as anxiety, depression, emotion dysregulation, and interpersonal difficulties. My therapeutic approach is based in a cognitive-behavioral framework, with a primary emphasis on Enhanced Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Eating Disorders (CBT-E). I value staying up to date with current research and continually developing my skills so I can provide care that is grounded in the best available evidence, and I am eager to continue learning new techniques and modalities while at EBHA.

I completed my undergraduate training in Psychology with a minor in Creative Writing, at Virginia Tech and subsequently worked as a research coordinator at San Diego State University. I am currently pursuing my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at The Ohio State University, where my research focuses on emotion regulation and interpersonal functioning. These experiences have reinforced my commitment to providing thoughtful, evidence-based care that integrates research with clinical practice.

Prior to joining Eating and Behavioral Health Associates, I completed a practicum at The Ohio State University Psychological Services Center, where I provided psychotherapy to university students and community members experiencing a range of emotional difficulties.
